For over a decade, Holmes & Hills' annual Planning Law updates have been a cornerstone of the autumn calendar. This year we anticipate record numbers of attendees from Local Planning Authorities and private businesses within the planning and development industry.
Holmes & Hills’ specialist planning law solicitors have consistently drawn large audiences to these significant events, with up to 125 participants per seminar and over 400 delegates throughout the series. This makes it the largest seminar series of its kind in the region.
Each year, Holmes & Hills' Planning Law Department aims to inform those from Local Planning Authorities and other property professionals about significant changes in planning practices, as well as recent case law developments. These updates are crucial in understanding their impacts on the sector. The 2024 updates will uphold this tradition, providing invaluable insights and expert guidance on the most pressing issues in planning today.
The topics covered vary each year, depending on what is most important and pressing from a Planning Law perspective for those working in the public and private sectors, as well as feedback from the previous year’s seminars.

This popular programme of events is the largest in the region for the planning, land, and property community, offering six in-person sessions in various locations across East Anglia. Holmes & Hills’ Planning Law updates are led by planning law solicitor and partner of the firm, Michael Harman, supported by the broader Planning Law Department including senior solicitor Jo Lilliott, Associate Ellie Hambling, CPO and DCO specialist solicitor Catherine Hibbert, newly qualified solicitor Millie Cook and trainee apprentice solicitor Anna Becker.
