An independent list of the UK’s top law firms - The Legal 500 - has ranked Holmes & Hills Solicitors, as one of the 'leading' law firms in the region across several specialist areas of the law. In this year's Legal 500 publication, Holmes & Hills has been named as a ‘firm to watch’ in the areas of Corporate and Commercial, and Construction as well as maintaining their rankings in the practice areas of Planning Law, Commercial Property, and Clinical Negligence. Significantly, the Holmes & Hills Family Law team moved up in the rankings.
Reviewing Holmes & Hills, Legal 500 editors recognised two of the firm’s commercial areas – commenting on the specialist team of Planning Law solicitors as being ‘a sizeable and experienced team with experience spanning contentious and non-contentious work’, and the firm's Commercial Property team for their ‘experience in land and development matters’ and ability to advise ‘throughout a project’s life cycle’.
Moreover, the Holmes & Hills Family Law team was commended for their ability to ‘deal with a variety of family matters’ and particularly distinguishing themselves on their work with ‘complex children matters and Children Act cases.’ Also, many of the firm’s specialist clinical negligence solicitors were recommended and as a collective was described as ‘very efficient and helpful’.
Also, many individuals in the firm received personal recommendations with Partners, Carol Toulson, Rebecca Mason, and Jason Brady being named Leading Individuals within their respective fields, a commendation of their long-established reputation in their sectors. Also, planning law and s106 specialist, Sarah Hare from the firm's well-regarded Planning Law team, was named for the first time as a Rising Star which is a testament to Sarah’s hard work and reputation from the firm’s planning and development clients.
Furthermore, eight more of the firm’s specialist solicitors were recommended, those named were specialist planning law solicitors and partners - Steven Hopkins and Michael Harman, Jo Lilliott - a senior solicitor also in the Planning Law Department, senior solicitor, Philippa Jerram of the Commercial Property Department, Sue Wardropper, senior solicitor, and Sarah Russell nee Patrick, solicitor from the firm's Family Law Team, as well as associate, Zoe Diss and senior chartered legal executive, Anna Watson from the Holmes & Hills' Clinical Negligence Team.
