Holmes & Hills Solicitors welcomed Home Secretary, Priti Patel, to its regional Head Office on Friday 18th February. Priti visited the firm’s A12 Commercial Hub at Marks Tey to hear about Holmes & Hills' success in growing its business and creating jobs within the legal industry.
Priti met with Partners, Steven Hopkins, Rebecca Mason, Phil Davies and Associate Sue Hume, along with many other members of the Holmes & Hills team, learning of the firm’s fast paced growth over recent years. Steven shared how Holmes & Hills had grown revenues 96% in five years and grown its staff count by 55% in the same period, with considerable growth occurring in the previous 24 months.
Priti was provided a tour of the new A12 Commercial Hub, 14,000 sq ft of modern, agile office space which is solely occupied by Holmes & Hills and houses the firm’s growing Corporate and Commercial, Litigation, Planning and Development, Commercial Property, Medical Litigation, Employment and central operations functions. Speaking with members of staff from across the business, Priti learned how the business was fast expanding its commercial teams.
Priti said: “Everyone has had a tough time both professionally and personally over the last couple of years but it is very good to hear that this new branch has not only survived the pandemic but has considerably increased and expanded its business. I enjoyed my visit and I wish the practice well in the coming years.”
Speaking about recruitment, Priti was updated on the firm’s approach to recruitment and the firm’s commitment to expanding its programme for Trainee Solicitors, with a trainee assessment day having taken place just the week before, leading to six Trainee Solicitor positions being offered.
Priti learned of the firm’s full service offering and how specialisms in areas of law such as planning, development and construction were providing an appealing proposition to landowners, developers and construction companies across the region, offering them a single source of expert legal advice covering all of their legal needs.
Steven Hopkins, Partner at Holmes & Hills Solicitors, commented: “It was a great pleasure to have Priti here at our A12 Commercial Hub. We welcomed the opportunity to update her on how we are progressing and the issues we face in the future. Her support and encouragement was much appreciated.”
