Holmes & Hills Solicitors is looking to recruit an excellent individual to join its Residential Property Team as a Legal Secretary, to be based at its office in Coggeshall and to work closely with Cherie Wallace, Senior Licensed Conveyancer in the firm's Residential Property Team.
From its office in Coggeshall, Holmes & Hills provides a wide range of legal services to those living in Coggeshall and the surrounding area. Services include making Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney; as well as providing advice on Divorce and Separation, Dispute Resolution, Estate Administration, Residential Property Matters and Conveyancing.
The successful candidate will work close with Cherie to provide clients with an excellent Conveyancing service, as well as supporting Cherie in advising on other residential property matters.
Main responsibilities:
- Typing documents, letters, attendance notes, file notes & bills, via Bighand dictation system.
- Use of Microsoft Office, SOS management system, Oyez forms and other software applications, including use of auto text and document templates
- To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overhall have a responsibility towards self-development.
- To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm's and clients' documentation and information.
Required qualifications, skills and experience:
- Minimum 2 years legal secretarial experience.
- Numerate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Document Management Systems and Bighand dictation.
- Fast and accurate word-processing and audio-typing skills.
- To proofread documents produced to ensure a high level of accuracy before returning to the relevant fee earner/team.
- To maintain firm policy with regards to templates used
- Preferably previous experience as a legal secretary or experience of working in an alternative professional office.
- Excellent communication (written & verbal) and inter-personal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain a professional working rapport with internal clients and other members of the firm.
- Ability to prioritise and manage a large workload effectively and efficiently to meet the demands of the firm.
- Willingness to learn, to continue to develop knowledge and skills and progress with the firm.
- Willing and helpful team-working approach to work.
- To be flexible in working approach.
