Holmes & Hills Solicitors in Sudbury were pleased to be the main sponsor for the Taste of Sudbury Food & Drink Festival. The company has sponsored this event for the last three years and are proud to be involved.
Staff from Holmes & Hills’ Sudbury office attended the event on Sunday 12th June and enjoyed the day immensely. They were giving away free copies of the latest Holmes & Hills’ recipe books dedicated to Afternoon Tea as well as tasting samples. Visitors were invited to enter the 'Win a hamper competition' in which we asked them to take a guess on the diameter of the World’s largest scone according to Guinness World Record. The answer was 117cm. Made by New Zealander Shaun McCarthy in 2010, the World’s largest scone weighed a whopping 119.45kg and took 7 hours to make!
Over 160 visitors took part, many of whom guessed the right answer. The winner, Wendy Secker, was drawn out at random from the correct answers. Mrs Secker was surprised to have won; she was presented her prize – a hamper filled with produce from the many local businesses exhibiting at the Taste of Sudbury event, by Sam Bawden, Partner of Holmes & Hills Solicitors in Sudbury.
We would like to congratulate the Sudbury Town Team for another successful event and look forward to working with them again next year.
