Holmes & Hills 10th annual charity bike ride has raised a record breaking amount of £8494.09!
Darren Couchman, Local Fundraising Manager from Cancer Research UK turned up at our Halstead office for the cheque presentation of what had been raised, he said:
‘What a terrific sum! Staff and local volunteers got right behind us and did some incredible things all in the name of charity. We receive no Government funding for our research, so our life-saving work is only possible thanks to the generous support of the public. Gaining support from local firms is vital to our fundraising efforts. It means we can continue to help more people get the treatment they need.’
The event which took place in September attracted 290 riders; many of whom also raised sponsorship by getting friends and family to sponsor their cycling efforts which gave a great boost to the fundraising pot.
Holmes & Hills in Halstead would like to say a HUGE thank you to all the riders and volunteers that contributed to the success of the 10th annual charity bike ride. A special mention for Halstead in Bloom, Halstead Rotary club, and the Halstead U3A whose members have done a fantastic job marshalling! We could not have done it without all your help and support!
