Holmes & Hills Bike Ride 2012

Clients, associates and friends of Holmes & Hills made the most of what looks to be the last weekend of summer by embarking on the firm’s 7th annual bike ride.

The intention had been to organise a slightly smaller event this year, but 115 riders took part and cycled the 33 mile route through some of the finest countryside North Essex has to offer. Riders set off from the gardens of the firm’s Halstead office and made their way through Gosfield, Castle Hedingham and Gestingthorpe before stopping for some well-earned lunch at Sudbury AFC.

The relatively flat first half of the route which took riders out to Sudbury had little in common with the return trip which included some infamous hills. Fortunately, it also included a number of village pubs which were extremely welcoming and proved very popular with many of the riders.

Waiting for riders back at Holmes & Hills’ office was Andrew East, of the firm’s Private Client Department, and as if that was not reward enough, he was providing riders and their supporters with a complimentary BBQ, courtesy of Holmes & Hills Solicitors in Halstead.

Whilst this year’s bike Ride was not organised as a charity event, Benson School of Motoring entered a team of 18 riders and independently raised a fantastic £2,000 for Cancer Research UK.
