For the second consecutive year Holmes & Hills has been recognised by the Legal 500 as a leading source of Planning Law advice for clients across the South East.
The Legal 500 directory of the UK’s top law firms first recognised Holmes & Hills as a leading firm for planning advice in the autumn of 2011 after the firm’s Planning & Development Team displayed clear expertise and experience in the sector.
The team is led by David Whipps (Senior Partner of the firm) who is one of only several Legal Associates of the Royal Town Planning Institute in the region and also sits on the Law Society’s Planning Panel. David is closely supported by his team Jo Lilliott and Steven Hopkins. Jo has over 15 years planning law experience working on behalf of local authorities and is an expert in negotiating complicated Section 106 agreements. Steven, now a partner in the firm, has over 7 years’ experience advising clients in relation to planning law matters and, with his litigation background, is able to bridge the gap between planning and contentious property law.
The team of specialist Planning Law solicitors have built a large client base consisting of residential and commercial property developers, companies and local authorities from across Essex, Suffolk, Cambridge, London and Hertfordshire. Such is the team’s reputation among property professionals in the region that they organise Planning Law Seminars across the region which act to update architects, developers, surveyors, planning consultants and local authority planning personnel on important changes to the law and case law developments.
David Whipps said: “The team are delighted that we have secured our position as a leading firm for Planning Law advice in the South East for a second consecutive year. We continue to aqcuire high profile private and public sector clients and we have our latest series of Planning Law seminars on the horizon which have again proved to be very popular. I am pleased to see the team continue to go from strength to strength despite these uncertain economic times.”
