Holmes & Hills Planning Law solicitors

Holmes & Hills’ Planning & Development Team, consisting of three specialist Planning Law solicitors, have finally come to the end of their autumn 2012 Planning Law Update tour of Essex and Suffolk.

Throughout October and November the team delivered six seminars held in Chelmsford, Basildon, Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and Hadleigh (Suffolk).  The annual seminar series once again proved popular with property and construction professionals across Essex and Suffolk with 165 surveyors, planning consultants, architects, property consultants, developers and planning officers attending.

2011/2012 has  been a momentous year in planning with the Localism Act coming into full effect, the publication of the National Planning Policy Framework and a number of notable decisions from the courts. David Whipps, Steven Hopkins and Joanna Lilliott led the seminars, discussing the main changes that had come into force over the year and their implications. This included discussing:

  • The Localism Act (nearly 12 months on)
  • Tree Preservation Order regulations
  • Tail piece conditions
  • National Planning Policy Framework
  • Case law update
