3. How to Enter

3.5 All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

4. Eligibility
4.1 The competition is open to all UK registered companies with a minimum of ten employees including directors.

4.3 Entries on behalf of another company will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.

5. The Prize
5.1 The Competition prize is one one-hour Session (as detailed in 2.2) with a Holmes & Hills LLP employment law specialist and one is available to be won.
5.2 There is no cash alternative for the prize.
5.3 The Prize is not negotiable or transferable.
5.4 In order to claim a prize:
(b) The following process must be adhered to:
(i) The Session must be booked with the Promoter before 13 February 2025 (inclusive);
(ii) take place at the Promoter's Office by 13 May 2025;
(iii) take place at a mutually agreeable and convenient date and time within condition (i) and (ii) for both the Promoter and the winner; and
(iv) note, a maximum of five directors or employees of the winning company may attend the session.
6. Winners
6.1 The drawn winner is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.2 The Promoter will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry.

6.4 The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will publish the company name of the prize winner and, if applicable, their winning entry on the Promoter’s website on 15 November 2024 (Announcement Date).

7. Claiming the Prize
7.1 Refer to the details of how to claim in condition 5.4. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim will become invalid.
7.2 The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
7.3 It is the drawn winner’s responsibility to claim the prize detailed in clause 5 with the Promoter directly in accordance with 5.4.
7.4 The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up any of the prizes.
8. Limitation of Liability
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. 10. Force Majeure
10.1 The Promotor shall not be in breach of these terms or otherwise liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations if such delay or failure results from events, circumstances or causes beyond its reasonable control. The time for performance of such obligations shall be extended accordingly. If the period of delay or non-performance continues for 60 days, the Promotor may terminate their obligation to provide the prize by giving 14 days written notice to the winner.
11. General
11.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
11.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
11.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

(d) Ensure your post is set to public so the Promoter can confirm your entry.
3.3 The Competition will run from 10:00 am on 29th June 2024 (the "Opening Date") to 17:00 on 30th June 2024 (the "Closing Date") inclusive.
3.4 All competition entries must be received by the Promoter via Facebook by no later than 17:00 on the Closing Date.
3.5 All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
3.6 All competition entries made by a person which cannot be confirmed by the Promoter due the person’s privacy settings within Facebook are automatically disqualified.

10. Force Majeure
10.1 The Promotor shall not be in breach of these terms or otherwise liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations if such delay or failure results from events, circumstances or causes beyond its reasonable control. The time for performance of such obligations shall be extended accordingly. If the period of delay or non-performance continues for 60 days, the Promotor may terminate their obligation to provide the prize by giving 14 days written notice to the winner.
11. General
11.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
11.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
11.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
The promoter is: Holmes & Hills LLP of A12 Commercial Hub, 86 London Road, Marks Tey, Colchester, Essex, CO6 1ED (“Promoter’s Office”).
2. The Competition
2.1 The title of the competition is: Holmes & Hills LHS March 2022 Competition.
2.2 The promoter is running a competition as follows:
a) Chance to win a £750 Holmes & Hills LLP voucher ("Conveyancing Voucher") subject to the conditions as set out in these terms and conditions; or
b) Chance to win a £50 Amazon voucher ("Gift Voucher").
2.3 The Competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.
3. How to Enter
3.1 To enter the competition you must complete a quotation form at the Promoter’s Stand. Upon passing your completed quotation form to the Promoter, you will receive a scratch card.
3.2 All entries to the Competitions must be submitted to the Promoter at the Promoters Stand.
3.3 The competition will run from 10:00 on 2nd April 2022 (the "Opening Date") to 17:00 on 2nd April 2022 (the "Closing Date") inclusive.
3.4 All competition entries must be received by the Promoter at their stand at the London Home Show at Queen Elizabeth II Centre, Broad Sanctuary, London (“Promoter’s Stand”) by no later than 17:00 on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
3.5 No purchase necessary.
3.6 By providing your details to enter this competition, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

3.8 The scratch cards are provided after an individual provides their details for a legal conveyance quotation at the Promoter’s Stand. The individual can scratch to reveal the instant result. The results on the scratch card are final.
4. Eligibility
4.1 competition is only open to UK residential first-time buyers who are planning to purchase a residential new build property within England or Wales.
4.2 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
4.3 There is a limit of one entry to the competition per quotation provided. Entries on behalf of another individual will not be accepted.
4.4 The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition or if you commit a breach of these terms.
4.5 Competition tries cannot be returned.
5. The Prize
5.1 The prizes are:
a) £750 off your legal fees with Holmes & Hills LLP in relation to your first time residential new build purchase in England or Wales and two are available to be won.
b) Amazon gift voucher worth £50 and two are available to be won.
5.2 The Conveyancing Voucher, is subject to all of the following:
a) You must be a UK resident, who is a first-time buyer, purchasing a residential new build property in England or Wales;
b) The individual(s) detailed in the conveyancing quotation must satisfy the Promoter’s and the Promotor’s industry regulators conflict and compliance checks, identity searches, policies, procedures, regulations and laws;
c) Can only be redeemed once in relation to Holmes & Hills LLP’s legal conveyance fees, which includes abortive legal fees;
d) Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, discount or promotion in relation to the Promotor’s conveyancing services; and
e) The Conveyancing Voucher must be redeemed within twelve months of 2nd April 2022 directly with the Promoter. Proof of identity will be required at the point of presenting the winning scratch card and redemption.
5.3 Prizes are subject to availability. There is no cash alternative for the prize, except in the accordance with 5.4.
5.4 If a wining individual(s) fails to meet 5.2(b) and the Promoter cannot act for the individual(s) meaning the prize £750 voucher cannot be redeemed then the Promoter can at their full discretion offer a cash alternative of £750 to the individual which is payable to the individual’s alternative selected conveyancer (“Alternative Conveyancer”), subject to all of the following:
a) The winning individual(s) not being identified by the Promotor’s searches and/or checks in any illegal or criminal activities or watchlists;
b) The Alternative Conveyancer must be based and registered in England or Wales and be regulated by the Solicitor’s Regulation Authority (SRA) and/or the Council for Licenced Conveyancers (CLC);
c) The wining individual(s) or their Alternative Conveyancer must provide to the Promoter a formal written conveyance from the Alternative Conveyancer (“Written Conveyance”);
d) The written Conveyance must contain legal fees excluding Value Added Tax (VAT) of an amount of either £750 or more;
e) £750 will only be payable by the Promotor directly to the Alternative Conveyancer after verification by the Promotor; and
5.5 The Gift Voucher is supplied by Amazon PLC ("Supplier"). The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal value if circumstances beyond the Promoter's control makes it necessary to do so.
5.6 Prizes are not negotiable or transferable.
5.7 In order to claim a prize:
a) The Gift Voucher is only available between 09:00 and 17:00 on the Opening/Closing Date at the Promoter’s Stand.
b) The Conveyancing Voucher must be redeemed within twelve months of the Closing Date directly with the Promoter. Proof of the winning scratch card number will be required to be presented to the Promoter.
6. Winners
6.1 The scratch card winners (once revealed) are final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.2 Individual(s) winners of the Conveyancing Voucher will be obliged to contact the Promoter directly at A12 Commercial Hub, 86 London Road, Marks Tey, Colchester, Essex, CO6 1ED, or on quotes@holmes-hills.co.uk or 01206 593933 in order to redeem the voucher in relation to their legal quotation.
6.3 The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will publish the surname and county of major prize winners and, if applicable, their winning entries on Holmes & Hills LLP website on 4th April 2022 (“Announcement Date”).
6.4 If you object to any or all of your surname or county your being published or made available, please contact the Promoter, Holmes & Hills LLP at A12 Commercial Hub, 86 London Road, Marks Tey, Colchester, Essex, CO6 1ED, or on quotes@holmes-hills.co.uk or 01206 59393. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
7. Claiming the Prize
7.1 Refer to the details of how to claim in condition 5.7. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim will become invalid.
7.2 The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
7.3 It is the individual(s) winner’s responsibility to claim the Conveyancing Voucher with the Promoter directly within twelve months of the Closing Date.

7.5 The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up any of the prizes.
