Carlo Taczalski, Barrister, Crown Office Chambers

Carlo specialises in commercial (including insurance), construction, engineering and energy disputes and has been recognised as a Leading Individual by the Legal 500 in construction law and for professional negligence claims for a number of years.

Carlo regularly advises and represents contractors, employers and constructions professionals in Court, and in adjudications, arbitrations and mediations.  He is also an accredited adjudicator, and so appreciates how the case will look from the other side of the bench.  Many of Carlo’s instructions are in cases where issues of negligence and / or breach of contract overlap with questions of insurance coverage, and / or professional negligence: he is therefore perfectly placed to handle the less straight-forward cases, where there are significant disputes about the responsibility for, for example delay or defects.

Recent cases include disputes about: the London Bridge refurbishment; a Canary wharf development; the installation of over-active MRI machines; the renovation of a Grade 1 quad, 100% over budget; the demolition and rebuilding of a well-known Oligarch’s flat(s)
