Mark Cornell

Mark joined Holmes & Hills Solicitors in 1992 as a trainee solicitor, qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and became a partner at Holmes & Hills in 1997, and was thereafter named head of the Dispute Resolution Department. Having successfully led his team for a number of years, Mark was appointed as the firm’s Managing Partner in 2010 and held this tenure until 2022. Whilst Managing Partner, Mark, along with his colleagues, facilitated substantial growth of the firm, including the development of the opening of the firm's regional head office, A12 commercial hub in Marks Tey, Colchester.

While acting as Managing Partner Mark worked very closely with the Private Client Department at Holmes & Hills and has been appointed by Holmes & Hills clients on numerous occasions to act as an Executor, Trustee, and Attorney. On 31st October 2022, Mark stepped down as Managing Partner and now heads up the thriving and growing Private Client Department. Mark now leads the charge on the firm's Private Client offering and along with the wider team, works with clients to plan for their and their loved ones’ futures or deal with the death and estate of a family member.
